Estcourt’s central business district streets will be a hive of activity as the chariot adorned with the three deities are pulled through the main streets. This festival is celebrated internationally and is a deeply spiritual experience.

The Festival of Chariots will begin at 10am at the Estcourt Town Hall. For those requiring transport, a taxi will be at the Maha Gaythri Temple from 8am.

One of the highlights of this year’s festival is the attendance of Kadamba Kanana Swami who is a senior member and initiating guru of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) also famously known as the Hare Krishnas.

Kadamba Kanana Swami is the author of several books such as, “Nothing but the Holy Name” and “Words of a Public Hermit”.

After the procession, there will be a program at the town hall where there will be talks and dances, thereafter a sumptuous vegetarian lunch will be served.

Devotees can also offer fruit and prayers to the Lordships as there will be a temple at the hall. The Food for Life Estcourt project will also be launched at the festival. Don’t miss out.
