Evowood launches investigation after two young men were scalded

Evowood’s management has ordered an in-depth investigation to uncover the cause of an accident last Wednesday that left two men severely injured

Two young men were severely burnt after an accident at the Evowood (formerly Masonite) factory last Wednesday.
It is believed that both men were working on site when the incident occurred.

Sustaining life-threatening injuries, both men were immediately treated by the company doctor and thereafter transported to Hilton Life Private Hospital.

Nkosinathi Nhlangulela, Group Chief Executive of Black Bird Capital, the shareholder said that the company’s management has expressed concern for the welfare of the injured pair who is recuperating in hospital.

“Evowood’s management has ordered an in-depth investigation to uncover the cause of an accident, during which two of a sub-contractor’s workers were injured. Investigations are continuing,” commented Mr Nhlangulela this morning.
