The recent hailstorm experienced a few minutes ago has caused a disaster in many parts of Newcastle.

Reports reveal, Lennoxton and Fernwood are the areas worst hit.

Many residents have reported their car windows and windscreens are broken due to the hail.

Hail stones believed to be the size of tennis balls came down and reportedly destroyed many house roofs causing rain water to flood the houses.
