The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) invited the Democracy Development Facilitators of the Disability Sector to participate in this year’s National Briefing.
The national and provincial elections for organisations representing Persons with Disabilities were top of the agenda at this briefing.
Those who attended came to know that in the case of an individual with special needs, a companion will be allowed at the voting station with them.

“As we prepare for the 2019 elections we are committed to raising awareness, inform stakeholders and voters on election processes,” said Nonhlakanipho Dlungwane, Communications Officer at Dundee IEC.

“We ensure maximum voters participation and create a climate conducive to free and fair elections.
“We, therefore, believe that it is of critical importance to brief and engage all role players and stakeholders on the Road to the 2019 National and Provincial Elections.”
