Update: Death toll rises to 3 after hospital transport bus crashes near Ladysmith
1 person died at the scene, 2 others later succumbed to their injuries
The death toll has risen to three after a hospital bus transporting patients crashed along the R600 between Ladysmith and Winterton on Monday (April 15).
It is believed that the patient transport bus was travelling from Winterton to a hospital in Ladysmith when it veered off the road and crashed down an embankment.
One person was declared dead at the scene and two others later succumbed to their injuries.

24 people were injured in the horrific crash.
Paramedics and members of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife worked tirelessly to bring the patients up from the bottom of the embankment.
