Rhino poached in Elandslaagte

No arrests have been made as yet.

Elandslaagte police are investigating a suspected rhino poaching after the carcass of an adult male rhino was found on Sunday (July 12).

It is believed that the rhino was killed sometime between Friday (July 10) and Sunday. The animal’s horn had been removed.

A case of rhino poaching has been opened and the matter is being investigated by Elandslaagte police, with the assistance of the relevant specialised police units.

No arrests have been made at this stage and the perpetrators remain unknown.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact the SAPS or report it anonymously via the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.
