Amid the heavy traffic flow on the N3 this morning, a family was fortunate to escape without injuries after a crash near the Tweedie off-ramp.

Netcare 911 paramedics responded to the crash scene at 7.24am.

Spokesperson Shawn Herbst said that the driver of a SUV lost control of the vehicle in the wet weather, causing the vehicle to veer off the road.

“Fortunately no injuries were reported. Traffic was severely affected in both directions,” said Mr Herbst.
