Dundee woman raped on her way home

Dundee SAPS has appealed to women in particular to be careful, when walking in public after the sun sets.

A woman was attacked and raped, in a second sexually-related crime in the Dundee area this month.

Dundee SAPS has appealed to women in particular to be careful, when walking in public after the sun sets.

On Friday night at around 7pm, the 21-year-old victim and her sister were on their way home from Orange Grove, using the Dundee/Wasbank Road, when they noticed two men following them.

While the sister managed to flee and call for help, the victim was grabbed and raped by one of the men.

SAPS has launched an investigating a charge of rape.

Three weeks earlier, a 27-year-old woman, walking back to her home in Craigside after midnight, was gang-raped by a group of four men, who dragged her into a nearby house.

The suspects, all under the age of 18, were arrested and have since appeared in court.

The names of the suspects cannot be released, as they are minors.
