AbaQulusi Municipality tables draft budget

Property rates per household will not be increasing.

Tariffs may increase by between three and six per cent in the new financial year.

Municipal officials and councillors have been visiting various communities in AbaQulusi, to deliver the details of the Draft Budget and Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for 2019/2020. Residents have also had a chance to comment on the proposed increases heading their way.

According to the Draft Budget and IDP, proposed tariff increases are six per cent (6%) for refuse and sewage, in addition to no proposed increase on property rates per household (0%).
This is due to the new valuation roll, which will be implemented from July 1, 2019.
The municipality believes business rates will especially increase considerably however.
