Time is ticking for Newcastle library opening
Newcastle Municipality confirms work on the library is still in progress.
When will the Newcastle Library open its doors to the public?
This is the question residents are asking, given the bold proclamation by the contractor that the structure would reach practical completion by the end of May.
Newcastle Municipality confirms work on the library is still in progress.
Official response was given by Head of Communications, Dr Dumisani Thabethe, who states the date of the library’s official opening would be ‘communicated in due course’.
“Cognizance should be given however, to the fact that staff will need to attend to the layout and operations at the library prior to the opening, in order to ensure the library is fully functional once reopened.”
