Endumeni Local Council votes in Deputy Mayor

Ward 3 Councillor, Mathula Nkosi has been voted, by show of hands, as the new Deputy Mayor.

A Special Council Meeting took place at the Endumeni Council Chamber yesterday evening. During a special voting process, by show of hands, a new Deputy Mayor was elected.

2 candidates were nominated: Cllr Ndlovu from the Inkatha Freedom Party and Cllr Mathula Nkosi from the African National Congress. After the votes were counted, Cllr Nkosi was declared the winner, by 8 votes to 5.

Cllr Nkosi is also the Ward 3 Councillor, and will now serve as second in command for the local municipality going forward.
