Beating the battle of cold at the Winter Knights collection drive

For someone in need, this collection drive will help keep the cold at bay this winter

Enduring a couple of hours of cold to do good, Estcourt Round Table 74 members hosted the Winter Knights collection drive on Friday evening.

Tablers set up their gazebo, banner and trailer in the parking area at Pick ‘n Pay and were all set to receive donations of cash, food, blankets and clothing.

Donations came in slowly and the Tablers resorted to making announcements in-store and stopping passing shoppers to explain the good cause.

To make the most of the Winter Knights drive, the members returned to Pick ‘n Pay on Saturday morning, where more donations were collected.

“The contributions will be donated to Thembelisha Care Project that distributes food to the needy in Weenen, Loskop and Wembezi. We will also be distributing food and some of the blankets we received from the Al-Imdaad Foundation to people on the streets,” said Estcourt Round Table 74 spokesperson Justin Sutherland.
