Sunday marked Faye Peersaib’s 18th blood donation.

21 locals supported the Sunday blood donor clinic hosted by the Sai Organisation and the South African National Blood Service (SANBS).

Andre and his mom Mariette Louw (62nd pint) fill in the lifestyle questionnaires.

Although the organisers hoped for a better turnout, they were nevertheless appreciative of the donors who took time out to save a life.

Letting the blood flow is Mbali Zulu, donating her fourth pint.

“It might be the cold or that some donors have the flu that there was a low number of donors,” said Sai Organisation member Baboo Ramdeen.

Baboo Ramdeen reached a milestone and received an SANBS badge when he donated his 75th pint of blood on Sunday.

The friendly SANBS staff eased donors into the registration, iron and blood pressure testing, and donation phases with frequent questions about the donor’s well-being and comfort.

Mayur Mothilal potentially saved three lives when he donated his sixth pint of blood.
