Sponsor ready to dish the championship dirt
The annual event has been held at different provinces over the years, including the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga, and Newcastle Oval Track’s spokeswoman, Zaakira Khan said the club was excited to host the event.
Midas will be the main sponsor of the upcoming SA Dirt National Championship, set to be hosted on October 5 by Newcastle Oval Track.
The annual event has been held at different provinces over the years, including the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga, and Newcastle Oval Track’s spokeswoman, Zaakira Khan said the club was excited to host the event.
“This is a massive event, and it’s an honour to be trusted with such a responsibility, that will need precise planning and execution. It’s a spectacular show and promises to boost the local economy, as many guest houses and petrol stations will be full and busy during the event. We will also have an awesome autograph session for attendees.”
Racers competing in the event will be classified as follows:
Stockrods, 1600 modifieds, 2-litre modifieds, Lexus, 16V midgets, V8 flexis, heavy metals and hot rods.
Gates will open at 10am and the autograph session will begin at 4pm.
