UPDATE: On-going negotiations plague Shepstone Place lawsuit

Mrs Potgieter was the administrator for 10 years at Shepstone Place before irregularities in the home’s financial records saw the committee reporting her to the police.

She is suspected of alleged fraud, which is being investigated by Estcourt detectives. The process of taking legal action remains in the negotiation phase at the moment.

A civil matter is still being negotiated and could well be settled out of court. Each claim that can be traced to the alleged fraud will be expected to be paid back.

The legal representative teams are currently sifting through heaps of claims.  Progress, in this case, is expected within the next two weeks.

In the interim, former Shepstone Place committee member Ian Armstrong feels the need for chairperson Sheryl Lane to also take responsibility and resign as chairperson.
