Seven confirmed dead in horror Pomeroy crash
Nine others were treated by paramedics for various injuries

Seven people have been confirmed dead in yesterday’s horror minibus smash on the R33 between Pomeroy and Dundee.
Robert McKenzie, EMRS spokesman in KZN, told the Courier that nine paramedics who responded to the scene treated a further nine people for various injuries on the scene.
Initial reports said the minibus, that had been transporting young women from the Stratford farm area back home after attending a traditional function, had collided with another vehicle.
This was discounted by witnesses who said the vehicle appeared to crash over a bridge and burst into flames.
The horror smash has been met with an outpouring of sympathy for the victims and their families.
Traffic Officials did not immediately know the cause of the crash.
Mr McKenzie said the long weekend had been a very busy one for the EMRS in KZN.
“Two people died in a crash involving two cars on the N2 at Paddock. While in the evening, also on the N2 at Umkhomaas, a crash involving an LDV has left 14 people injured and one person sustained fatal injuries.
“This morning on the M35 at Folweni, a crash involving a minibus and LMV has sadly resulted in 5 fatalities and paramedics treated 17
patients for various injuries.”
