Protest action closes Wasbank road
Motorists are urged to use alternative routes via the N11 and Sunset Rest road.
The Wasbank/Elandslaagte road – at the entrance to Wasbank village – is closed this morning due to protest action.
According to motorists using the route, protesters are gathered on the bridge near the intersection with the old Dundee By Products road. Branches, burning tyres and rocks have been strewn across the road.
It is not clear at this stage what the protest is concerning, but previous protest action was due to a lack of water in the area.
Motorists are urged to use alternative routes to Ladysmith, via the Glencoe/Sunset Rest road and the N11.
