On August 20 and 21, there was literal drama at Ichthus. Almost every learner of the school participated in the biennial Drama Festival and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The school thanks Annelie Dowling for organising the event, and staff who assisted. Adjudicator, Shirley Wade contributed to the success of the festival with her inspirational and uplifting judging. Ichthus appreciated everyone’s time and effort.
“Congratulations to all the learners on their beautiful results, as the assessment results show the commitment of the children, parents and staff. 91 percent of items obtained an A symbol or higher.”
Gala Evening for Drama Festival: On August 27, the best achievers from Grades 1 to 7 had the opportunity to present their poems to an audience during an evening gala function. Learners sparkled and made it a very enjoyable evening.
Extra colour was given by the co-presenters of the evening, Grade 7 learners Alexa Wilken and Khwezi Molefe, who did a great job. The school said it was truly a blessed evening.
Performances with the recorder and guitar, as well as an individual violin performance by Refiloe Motsepe, were some of the highlights of the evening. The Grade 7 class ended the gala evening with a music item, based on a wonderful message from the Bible.
Micah 6:8 reads: “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
The school also thanks Sarie Nel, Sharlene Williams and Fahrana Rotol for the lovely snacks.
