Cricket: During August, the u-11 cricket team played against NRS at home and won by 43 runs. Yahya Bobat was man of the match, scoring 43 runs and taking three wickets.
Later in the month, the u-11 team faced Uelzen and won by seven wickets. Yahya Bobat was again the top scorer, making 34 runs, while Ryno Labuschagne had the best bowling figures of three wickets in four overs, for just 16 runs. DJS is very proud of Mr Schroeder and his u-11 team for being unbeaten this year – well done!
With the school’s cricket season coming to an end, DJS sent its top performers to test their skills against the best in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. Congratulations to the following boys, who made the NKZN teams at their respective age levels:
u-11: Dillan Guelpa and Sayush Govender
u-12: Tayrees du Preez and Nathan Haskins
u-13: Pieter Gunther and Ethan Jansen
Mini-Krieket: Tydens Augustus het DJS se mini-krieketspanne aan Ladysmith se KFC toernooi deelgeneem. Die uitslae lyk soos volg:

DJS is ook baie trots op die o-9 spannetjie wat die toernooi in hulle afdeling gewen het – baie geluk! Also in August, DJS participated in Huttenpark’s Mini-Cricket Tournament. The results were as follows:
u-7: played two, lost two
u-8: played two, lost two
u-9: played two, won one, lost one

Soccer: The u-13 soccer team has been participating in the Glencoe Soccer League. The team played very well throughout the season, but unfortunately lost in the final against Biggarsberg A team in the final moments of the match, by one goal to nil.
At the end of August, both the u-11 and u-13 soccer teams participated in the Glencoe Soccer Tournament. The results were as follows:
u-13: NRS versus Dundee: 0 – 0; Richardia vs Dundee: 2 – 1; Amajuba vs Dundee: 0 – 0; Glencoe vs Dundee: 1 – 1; Glencoe vs Dundee: 1-1
u-11: Amajuba vs Dundee: 0 – 0; Richardia vs Dundee: 0 – 0; Glencoe vs Dundee: 1 – 1; Glencoe Violet vs Dundee: 2 – 0; NRS vs Dundee: 2 – 1.
