Organisers of the Soundwave Music Festival which starts tonight have announced a buy-one-ticket-and-get-one-free promotion. The festival will showcse local musicians are hitting the high notes at local churches over the Heritage Day Weekend.

Soundwave will help nurture and expose the myriad of local talent out there. Pam McFadden, of the organising committee, said festival-goers should brace themselves to enjoy a ‘musical collage to suit all tastes’.

“There will be rock, gospel, Afrikaans music, Zulu music, a brass band, country and western, classics like you have never heard them before, and some original tracks too, written by our Dundee musicians,” said Pam.

There will also be street busking at the Dundee Streetmarket, September 21, on Beaconsfield Street, in front of the Courier office, which will give those browsing around the stalls a chance to hear some of the musicians and who know, maybe even join in themselves..
