#RiseUpForWomen: Sanele speaks about her journey

Sanelisiwe said she could still smile even with every bad experience she had gone through.

Molested at the age of six, Sanelisiwe Madela, was too young to fully understand what had happened to her.
Today she is a beautiful woman who values herself, and dislikes women who are too quick to judge other women based on their looks or the way they carry themselves, when they don’t know the underlying reasons for their attitude or character.
“In December 2016, I was assaulted by my then-boyfriend, someone I trusted, someone I loved and valued, because of a rumour spread by other women. When he found out it was a lie, he said he didn’t hit me because he thought I had cheated, he hit me because he claimed I provoked him. He settled for giving an excuse instead of apologising for being wrong.”
In November last year, overwhelmed by work, her past and those around her, Sanele feel into deep depression.

“It was a lonely dark hole with no one to save me. Through the love I received from my family and close friends however, I was able to come out of it. It wasn’t easy but I am taking it one step at a time.”

Sanelisiwe said she could still smile even with every bad experience she had gone through.
“With God by my side, I have come out stronger than before,” she concluded.
