Dundee’s golfing veteran Jo says his sport keeps him ‘on the go’
Veteran golfer and greenkeeper Jo Khumalo has enjoyed a lifelong passion for golf, recording four holes-in-one.
As part of our Best Of series celebrating local businesses, organisations and community personalities, we are also turning the spotlight on some of Dundee’s sporting personalities.
Among those featured is veteran golfer and current Dundee course greenkeeper Jo Khumalo, who has been enjoying the game since he first picked up a club at the age of 14.
Over the years, Jo has recorded an impressive four holes-in-one and won numerous club titles, establishing himself as a familiar and respected figure on the local golfing scene.
For Jo, however, golf is about much more than competition and trophies. He believes the sport offers both physical and mental benefits, while providing an opportunity to build friendships and enjoy the company of fellow players.
“Golf is a great stress reliever. It helps me improve my focus, and I enjoy the camaraderie and interaction with my fellow golfers.”
Jo’s passion for the sport and his contribution as a greenkeeper make him an important part of Dundee’s golfing community and a fitting personality to feature in our Best Of local sporting series.
