Natural alternatives to include in your diet

At a recent ARK Support Group meeting, members learnt about natural alternative that would be beneficial to their diet

1. Oedema, blood pressure and heart management – pomegranates, green tea, magnesium, potassium, Omega 3, co-enzyme Q10.

2. Blood building – spinach, kale, collard greens, dandelion greens, Swiss chard and broccoli. More animal protein but not pork, liver, seafood in oil or brine (drained), dairy products, beans and vegetable proteins, nuts and seeds, apricots, red peppers and beetroot.

3. Cancer home treatments – Eat more broccoli, carrots, beans and tomatoes, as well as berries and citrus fruits. Herbs and spices like cinnamon, turmeric, flaxseed and garlic may be added to your diet. Eat more nuts and fatty fish. Use olive oil (extra virgin if possible) for salads, cooking and even massaging.
