Deadly Mozambique Spitting Cobra found outside Ladysmith home

The family contacted local snake expert Fanie Cilliers, who responded to remove the venomous reptile

A potentially deadly Mozambique Spitting Cobra was found outside a home in Ladysmith recently.

The homeowner had just gotten back from Newcastle with her family when she noticed something unusual outside her son’s window. At first she didn’t realise what it was, but luckily didn’t get too close before recognising the dark shape to be that of a snake.

The family contacted local snake expert Fanie Cilliers, who came out to help.

The homeowner was delighted to have the creature removed from her premises so it could not harm anyone. The snake was safely released by Fanie in a suitable environment with a good food supply and far away from people.

The Mozambique Spitting Cobra is a highly venomous snake species found in Africa.
