Three people were arrested during a police operation in Dundee recently, as SAPS clamps down on the drug trade. Following up on intelligence reports regarding widespread drug dealing in the town, members of the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit and K9 Unit led the operation.

Two men were arrested in Lindelani after being found in possession of seven clear plastic packets containing heroin. A large quantity of unused straws, blades used for cutting straws, seven sealed straws of heroin powder, utensils containing heroin residue, 79 Mandrax tablets and other items were seized as evidence.

The drugs and paraphernalia are valued at more than R90 000. The suspects were charged with dealing in drugs and are expected to appear in the Dundee Magistrate’s Court soon.
