Farewell blessings for Ichthus Grade 7s

Ichthus Principal, Mrs Viljoen blessed each child with a few words and a gift.

Last Thursday (November 21), Ichthus School formally said goodbye to the Grade 7 Class of 2019.

The theme of the farewell, ‘A Star Is Born’, was based on Daniel book 12 verse three: “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like stars for ever and ever.”

12 very smartly dressed Grade 7 boys and girls attended this special function with their parents, and were joined by the staff and members of the School Governing Body. The Grade 7 learners once again astounded the audience with their excellent, heartfelt speeches, suited to everyone’s own personality.

The fathers of the family, or a representative of the father, then blessed their children individually, as a symbol of releasing the child into high school and into the world where they will accept more responsibilities.

Principal, Mrs Viljoen, then blessed each child with a few words and a gift. From the delicious food to the very apt decorations, the evening was a real blessing from God and Ichthus thanks every individual who worked so hard to make the evening a success.

“To the class of 2019: God bless, be Daniel 12:3 stars, to the honour of God! Ichthus School shall miss you!”
