Plaque unveiled in memory of Dundee’s own ‘Lady Di’
"She was a caring person, strong willed and an asset to our town; certainly a person from whom one could learn so much."
Permanent homage has been paid to a spiritual lady, who made a huge impression on the Dundee community.
Rev AD ‘Diane’ Vorster, fondly known as Lady Di, was the Trinity Presbyterian Minister for a remarkable 24 years, from 1982 to 2006. When she recently passed away in Howick, at the age of around 75, the Dundee church decided to put up a plaque in her memory.
Brother Daniel, who is the current Pastoral Assistant at Trinity Presbyterian, recalled his memories of Rev Vorster who he described as a close friend of he and his wife, Arlene.
Brother Daniel said Rev Vorster never married and was, by and large, a private person who cared for those in the community.
“She was a caring person, strong-willed and an asset to our town; certainly a person from whom one could learn so much,” he said.
