Girl (12) stabbed to death on bridge
Three men are said to have attacked the girl and a male friend
A 12-year-old girl was stabbed to death while walking on the Commercial Road Bridge at about 8.30am on Saturday night.
The girl, who was in the company of a 15-year-old male friend, was stabbed in the head and chest, security officials and SAPS said.
She died on the scene.
It was reported that the couple was attacked by three men who fled after the girl was stabbed.
The victim has not been named.
Nothing was taken, SAPS said. Nembile Security officials said calls to the police station were hindered by either a faulty at the Police Station or an operator who was struggling to answer the calls.
SAPS could not immediately comment on the claims.
It was also reported that a man was murdered in Stratford Farm on Friday night but no other details have been released.
