SAPS extends firearm amnesty period
Any illegally possessed firearms, ammunition and gun parts can be handed in without fear of prosecution.
The Minister of Police, Bheki Cele has declared a firearm amnesty period from December 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020.
The amnesty period will give members of the public chance to hand in any illegally possessed firearms, ammunition and gun parts at local police stations, without fear of prosecution.
Firearm licence holders will also be allowed to renew expired gun licences. For more information on the amnesty period, contact the Dundee SAPS Firearm Office: Warrant Officer Sookraj on 034 299 9784.
Ushwele wezibhamu 2019/2020
Amaphoyisa akhiphe umyalelo wokuthi kuzoba noshwele wezibhamu wezibhamu ezingekho emthethweni kusuka ngo mhlaka 31 December kuya ku mhlaka 31 May, 2020.
Lelithuba lizonikezwa amalunga omphakathi ukuthi banikele ngezibhamu ezingekho emthethweni, nezinhlamvu kanye nezingxenye zezibhamu eziteshini zamaphoyisa.
Lelithuba lizovumela nalabo abanezibhamu ezise mthethweni eseziphelelwe isikhathi sokuvuselela ukuba bavuselele izincwadi ezigunyaza ukuphatha izibhamungokuse mthethweni.
