2020 babies make their New Year’s arrival

The Newcastle Advertiser had the opportunity to photograph the new arrivals with their proud moms.

A total of 11 babies were born on New Year’s Day at the Newcastle Provincial Hospital, acccording to Matron Sokhela at the Maternity Ward.

The Newcastle Advertiser had the opportunity to photograph the new arrivals with their proud moms. The first baby, a girl, was born at 12.35am weighing 2,8 kilograms. Her mother, Thobeka Shongwe named her Lwandle Dlamini.

The next baby boy (Zanokuhle Buthelezi) soon arrived at approximately 4.30am weighing 2,9 kg. His mother, Lindokuhle was seen cradling him to sleep.

Proud mom, Khanyisile Dube gave birth to her son, Luthando Buthelezi at 4.53am. He weighed a whopping 3,35kg.

At 6.13am, Noluthando Vilakazi gave birth to a baby boy, Luniko Sthelesihle, weighing 3kg.

A short while after, another baby boy, Culolethu Shongwe was born to mom, Thobeka Shongwe. He weighed 2,8kg.

The last two baby girls born on the day were Aphiwe Hlatswayo (2,7kg) by mom, Samukelisiwe Nkosi and Lubanzi Dlamini (2,7kg) by mom, Jabulile Khoza at 11.27am.
