Class of 2019 achieves a milestone

KwaZulu-Natal grade 12s scored a collective 81.3 percent pass rate

Jubilation is palpable at high schools this morning as the matric class of 2019 received their National Senior Certificate (NSC) results hours ago.

Learners are gathering at the schools to receive their statement of results, catch up with friends and of course, pass around congratulations.

The Class of 2019 achieved a milestone this year, as the national pass rate is 81.3 percent, the highest in over 20 years.

A total of 788 717 pupils registered to write the 2019 NSC examinations. KwaZulu-Natal grade 12s scored a collective 81.3 percent pass rate. The Free State recorded the highest pass rate with 88.4 percent.

The Education Department (Uthukela office) has advised the Estcourt News that the official results of top performing learners and schools in each circuit will be available tomorrow (January 9).
