Poor drainage blamed for Sibongile flooding

Endumeni Mayor, Sduduzo Mdluli said the Technical Services Department would seek solutions.

Last week’s downpour, during which nearly 50mm of rain was measured, caused flooding in the new extension adjacent to Sibongile.

Residents said roads were turned into raging rivers, as the drainage system could not cope with the amount of water flowing down the streets. Many called the Courier to express their concern and Mayor, Sduduzo Mdluli was contacted for response.

He responded: “I have asked the municipal Technical Services Department to assess and advise on what needs to be done, in order the deal with the problem completely.”
