Glenridge Clinic ‘swamped’ by sewage
"This matter was reported two weeks ago and Umzinyathi District Municipality has done nothing about it."
Residents utilising the Glenridge Clinic in Glencoe have called for an urgent intervention, after the facility was swamped by human waste.
According to one resident, who declined to give their name, patients were now being turned away because of the awful smell caused by a burst sewage pipe.
“This matter was reported two weeks ago and Umzinyathi District Municipality has done nothing about it.”
The district municipality was contacted and officials stated they were aware of the problem. They further said the pump station needed to be cleaned out, as this was causing sewage to overflow.
No time frame has been given for this operation to take place.
