Littering blights Dundee’s image – Tourism office says

The Post Office is also a known hang out for prostitutes after sunset

While Dundee is doing its best to promote itself as a tourism town, the litter in especially the central business district continues to blight the image of the town.

The Post Office on Beaconsfield Street, a known hang out for prostitutes after sunset, has become the prime target for litter bugs.

Dozes of discarded beer bottles and other rubbish was found strewn around outside the Post Office on Saturday morning.

Naresh Gopie, Tourism Dundee chairman, expressed his concern over the littering.

“I have spoken previously to the post master who would like to have the building fenced off to prevent vandalism and vagrants from entering after hours. Hopefully Tourism Dundee will support their efforts. We plead with all residents to help keep our town clean,” Mr Gopie said.
