Sport against Greytown: Sarel Cilliers (Blue Lions) kicked off the season on a high note, with all rugby teams participating in a sport day against Greytown High School. The scores were as follows: the under-14s won 22-5, the u-15s won 19-10, the u-16s won 67-0, the second team won 57-0 and the first team won 40-8.
The hockey girls played well and the first team won 4-0, while the u-16s won 1-0. The netball girls played excellently and won 47-11. Sarel would like to wish its rugby teams the best of luck with the rugby day this weekend.
Rugby Day: The 48th annual Rugby Day will take place on February 21 and 22. No food and drinks will be allowed onto the premises, as both will be available for sale at the tuck shop.
Endumeni Athletics: After an eventful day at the inter-house athletics, Sarel’s most talented athletes went on to compete at Dundee High School on February 8. Sarel took 40 learners to participate and after facing fierce competition, 23 of them made it to the Umzinyathi Athletics team.
Action cricket: Sarel Cilliers’ action cricket team took on ‘Whip Me’ on Friday night. Jarren Theron and Thabo Japha were the best batsmen for the evening, with Thabo Japha and Nikeel Dookhi performing exceptionally well in the bowling department.
Sarel scored 138 runs, but unfortunately ‘Whip Me’ took the game with 172 runs.
