Rumours of total shutdown in Ladysmith tomorrow

At this stage, it is believed that the municipality and SAPS have not approved a march

There will be a march tomorrow (February 26) in which organisers hope to completely shut down Ladysmith. Marchers are calling for the immediate removal of Mayor Vincent Madlala. It is unlikely that any taxis will be operating tomorrow.

It has been confirmed by sources in the SAPS and the municipality that the march has been officially approved and will go ahead.

The Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce & Industry suggests that businesses prepare themselves for a stay-away tomorrow in the absence of taxis to take people to work.
