Messages circulate on social media about alleged water poisoning in Ladysmith

The results of water sampling tests will only be available tomorrow afternoon

Messages circulated on social media this morning (March 9) of alleged water poisoning at the Ezakheni Water Works, getting everyone talking and making people worried.

According to uThukela District Municipality, they have since been in constant communication with Umgeni Water. Earlier today, they promised that results of water samples taken from the plant to the laboratory would be available by this afternoon.

A few moments ago, the Umgeni Water Head Office said that some delays were experienced. Hence, the results of the water sampling tests will only be available tomorrow afternoon (March 10).

“Once the results are known, we will share them with all stakeholders. This will be done without delay. Let’s continue to exercise maximum patience and also hope that the results come back negative,” assures uThukela.
