2 stolen vehicles recovered by local SAPS

The suspects, who are aged between 25 and 40, were arrested at Leslie Farm outside Newcastle.

Four suspects have been arrested for vehicle theft, by members of SAPS Amajuba Cluster Task Team.

The suspects, who are aged between 25 and 40, were arrested at Leslie Farm just outside Newcastle recently. A Toyota Tazz, which was reported as stolen from the Newcastle CBD on March 7, was also recovered.

Earlier that day, in a joint operation with local VIS [Vehicle Identifying and Safeguarding] Unit members, the task team recovered a Mitsubishi Colt bakkie which had been stolen near Volksrust.

The vehicle is recovered after being reported stolen from the CBD on March 7.

“The vehicle was found abandoned behind Madadeni TVET College. The team has since recovered over 10 stolen vehicles during the current financial year. Amajuba Acting Cluster Commander, Brigadier GD Sumayela commended members on their tireless efforts to ensure perpetrators are brought into book,” said Newcastle SAPS Spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Ncube.
