PUBLIC NOTICE: Today’s load-shedding escalated to Stage 4

Stage 4 load-shedding will be in effect until 11pm this evening.

A message was broadcast by Councillor Bertie Meiring this afternoon, explaining the situation. Head of Communications for Newcastle Municipality, Mlungisi Khumalo confirmed load-shedding would take place as per instruction from Eskom nationally.

The message from Cllr Meiring read: ”Stage 4 load-shedding to be implemented from [2pm] until [11pm], then back to Stage 2 until 5am on [March 11].”

Residents are urged to charge their cell phones and other communication devices ahead of the load-shedding.
