Zululand task team follows the trail to recover stolen livestock

SAPS officials recovered four Bonsmara cattle which had been tied up

During an operation on March 9, the Zululand Stock Theft Task Team followed up on possible leads regarding stock stolen from a farm in Glückstadt.
The team went to a village area near Swart-Mfolozi, where the stolen animals were found hidden in the bushes.
SAPS officials recovered four Bonsmara cattle which had been tied up, each with their calves nearby, and another two cattle were recovered in the same area.
The owner later identified the stolen cattle by brand and they were handed back to him.
The cattle were reported stolen in February, from a farm in the Glückstadt area.
SAPS KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula commended the team for recovering the stolen livestock.
“We are also appealing to stock owners to make sure they brand their livestock for easy identification. The issue of stray animals on public road remains a concern, as it leads to serious accidents and even loss of life. We are appealing to livestock owners to take care of their livestock and not allow them to stray onto our roads.”
