Municipal services to go on

Acting Mayor of AbaQulusi Local Municipality, Mncedisi Maphisa has confirmed that all municipal services will continue to operate as normal during the lockdown period.
“All councillors and senior management have work permits, to deliver basic services and the municipal mandate.”
Cllr Maphisa explained all essential services, including public safety, sewage, water, electricity and waste management, including general workers who clean the town, were all in operation.
However, the licensing department will be closed for the duration of the lockdown.

“Cashiers will work on April 5, 6 and 7, so people can be able to pay for their rates and services, but we encourage people to pay at the bank and use the banking details on their statement. This is to avoid long queues and to adhere to the social distancing, as regulated by the national Government.”
Cllr Maphisa urged residents to stay at home, avoid socialising, and practice the basics of staying clean, hygienic and healthy, to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
