SANBS drives mobile blood donation clinics

The SANBS mobile clinic will be visiting Vryheid on April 17, setting up at the Klipkerk from 11am until 6pm, and again on April 18 at Pick n Pay from 9am until 1pm.

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is encouraging residents of Vryheid to continue donating blood.
Residents’ selflessness can prevent blood stocks from running critically low and placing the lives of patients at risk.
SANBS gave a reminder that those who have travelled to Covid-19 affected countries outside of South Africa will be deferred for 21 days.
People with confirmed cases of coronavirus infection will be deferred for 28 days from the date of complete clearance of symptoms, and people who have been in close contact with confirmed or probable coronavirus cases will be deferred for 21 days from the last date of contact.
As normal practice when donating, donors are encouraged to delay donating if they have flu-like symptoms or possible symptoms, until they are in good health.

Donating blood is considered an essential service
