Human skeletal remains found in Acaciavale

The hair on the skull belonged to an African female

Police were summoned to an area near Circle Road in Acaciavale on Wednesday morning (May 6), where skeletal remains had been found.

On arrival at about 11.30am, officers were met by a man who informed them of his discovery. He had stumbled upon what appeared to be a human skeleton next to the sewerage works in Acaciavale.

This was confirmed, as the hair found on the skull belonged to an African female.

It is suspected that the female was murdered; police found a piece of wire around the neck. Police say it looks like the deceased was strangled.
