SAPS intercept cattle thieves

The brand mark raised suspicions that the cattle had been stolen

A cattle owner had stolen livestock returned to him by SAPS before he knew his animals had been stolen.

Members of the Glencoe Stock Theft Unit reacted to information on Saturday afternoon that cattle were being loaded on to a truck in the vicinity of the Dundee silos in the industrial area.

Members arrived on the scene and recognised the brand mark on the cattle and contacted the owner who was unaware that the cattle had been stolen.

SAPS recovered five animals and hope to soon recover the other five that the thieves managed to get away with.

SAPS are confident of soon making an arrest.
