The motive behind the attack is not yet clear

SAPS are investigating a shooting that on Friday evening  claimed the life of an elderly taxi owner and left his son critically injured.

According to SAPS, the father and son came under fire while driving their Combi vehicle on the Nyanyadu road at around 6pm on Friday.  The shots were fired at them from occupants of a vehicle that was travelling behind them.
