Two people died in a devastating collision this afternoon (July 30) on the R33 Kambula road. A truck and a smaller truck collided. Upon impact, one of the occupants was flung from the truck and another was crushed inside the small truck. Unfortunately, both succumbed to their injuries and were declared dead at the scene. The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, while the driver of a third vehicle sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Police are investigating the cause of the crash. The Vryheid Herald extends its condolences to the families of the deceased.
