EFF demands dignity for learners and parents
"We view this as a gross violation of human rights, with a hidden agenda of excluding poor black children from receiving the best education, based on the colour of their skin"- Ndlovu.
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) regional chairperson Thulani Ndlovu has issued a statement on what he termed “gross violation of the human rights of parents and learners in some previously ‘white only’ schools in Vryheid.”
He said that the EFF in Zululand acutely condemns the previously ‘white only’ schools, along with their SGBs, for attaching the properties of black parents through their attorney on the grounds of failing to pay school fees for their children. “We view this as a gross violation of human rights, with a hidden agenda of excluding poor black children from receiving the best education, based on the colour of their skin. This cannot be allowed in this new dispensation, as the said schools are ‘no fee’ schools,” he said.

The EFF, however, did not mention any names of the alleged schools in town, citing that the organisation has sent a letter to the Department of Education for further investigation of this matter.
“We have sent a letter to the KZN Department of Education to intervene with immediate effect, and see the dignity of the black child and parent being restored. We are still waiting for feedback to engage on the matter,” he added.
