Strong wind fuels veld fire flames in Centenary Road, Ladysmith

A massive veld fire broke out in Centenary Road on Friday morning (August 28).

How the fire started is unknown at this stage.

The fierce flames spread quickly due to a strong wind that was blowing.

Of concern was the fact that there were broken-down vehicles and buses in the area.

Luckily, firefighters responded to the scene and managed to stop the blaze before it could get to the vehicles.

A large crowed of onlookers gathered at the scene to see what was going on.
