NEWCASTLE ADVERTISER: ‘Operation Basadi’ hunts down wanted suspects
Operation Basadi ended with officers tracking down wanted suspects this week.
Female law enforcement officials who were part of Operation Basadi sped through the streets of Madadeni, Osizweni and Blaauwbosch this week, eager to bring criminals to book. The last leg of the operation, which is a national initiative to empower female officers and encourage them to stand up and be counted, focused on tracking down and arresting wanted suspects.

After a briefing in Newcastle, a convoy travelled to the Madadeni Police Office where officers were split into two teams to cover the areas identified. Amajuba District Commander of Visible Policing, Brigadier Fred Alexander briefed officers before the teams headed out, and encouraged them to come back with arrests.
