DUNDEE – The challenge is on for SANBS
NKZN is looking for bragging rights in Inter Branch Challenge
With lockdown affecting the amount of units of blood that the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) has been able to collect, the organisation has had to think outside of the box.
The SANBS has launched its Inter-Branch Challenge in KwaZulu-Natal, in the hopes of attracting more donors to the cause, with five branches competing. NKZN, Durban North, Durban South, Midlands and Highway. The challenge runs during the month of September and NKZN is desperate for bragging rights.
The healthy competition aims to ensure that the SANBS’ blood supply is maintained. You can donate blood at your nearest Blood Donor Centre or contact Shavani Sewpaul on 082 870 3446, for a Blood Drive closest to you. The SANBS are in Dundee today at the St James Anglican Church between 1pm and 6pm.
You can also catch them at the Pick ‘n Pay Boulevard Centre on Wednesday, September 16 between 10am and 4pm. The Blood Bank will then be in Glencoe on September 17 from 1pm to 6pm. The last time you can catch them in Endumeni is on September 30, once again at the Pick ‘n Pay Boulevard Centre from 10am to 4pm.
